NAVLE Tutorial

Updated August 7, 2009

The NBVME offers a free tutorial for use by NAVLE candidates.  The test delivery software ("driver") used for the NAVLE beginning with the fall 2009 testing window has been revised and updated, and all NAVLE candidates are advised to download and use the tutorial before they take the actual examination at a Prometric testing center. The tutorial illustrates how the computerized test works and provides the opportunity to practice using 20 sample items.

The same tutorial (without the 20 sample items) will be available at the Prometric testing center on the day of the examination, and candidates will have 15 minutes to view it before they begin the examination.

You must have admin rights on your computer to install the tutorial, and your monitor resolution must be set to 1024x768 in order to view the tutorial.  Unfortunately, the tutorial is only available at this time in a Windows-compatible format, and only works with Internet Explorer. It will not work with the Mac OS, though Mac users should be able to view the tutorial using a Windows emulation program.

The following link contains instructions for installing and using the NAVLE tutorial. You should review the NAVLE Tutorial Instructions pdf file before you download and view the tutorial.

The following links are for zipped files containing the English and French versions of the NAVLE Tutorial.  After you download and unzip the file, you will have an .exe file that will install the tutorial on your computer.
